pumpkins and costumes

we look forward to the pumpkin patch every year. or at least i do :) it's one of my favorite parts about fall. and it never really feels like fall until we make it to at least one pumpkin patch. this year we got dressed in our normal fall attire...jeans, sweaters, boots (me), and it was SO HOT. upper 60s! sunshine. what a weird year... oh well, i'll take as much of this gorgeous fall weather as i can get :)
we had picked out grady's halloween costume online earlier in the day. he really wants to be a firefighter. so by the time we left for the pumpkin patch, he was all excited about halloween. on the way there i kept telling him we were going to pick out pumpkins. he kept telling me we were going to pick out costumes. i was confused. i know he knew we already picked out a costume?
well, we finally got there and he was calling the pumpkins, costumes. i'm not sure where we went wrong here, but hearing him say "wow! look at THIS costume! wow, this is a BIG costume!", I couldn't help but smile and chuckle. love this part of the 3-year-old stage.
anyway, we picked out 'costumes', one for each of us, played in the park, and visited the animals. our activities are limited unfortunately, since i am horribly allergic to absolutely everything at a farm it seems...so hay rides, barns & mazes weren't in the cards, but maybe jon will take them back (at least grady anyway) another time to have a little more fun. graders gets to go to another pumpkin patch with his preschool class later this week, too :)

the farm

the little mr. ran into our dresser a few days before (when we were just about to leave for the pumpkin patch the first time) and got a big knot on his forehead :( looks so much better here, but he still got some funny looks. poor buddy.

he was showing us his dance moves

and a few attempts at a group pic of the boys. mostly bloopers. how hard is it to get three people to look at the camera at one time? VERY.
i was also trying to catch the haze, rainbow, etc as well...very hard to edit though. so the color is horrible, but i got my rainbow :)

i am looking forward to more fall fun. and can't wait to carve our perfect pumpkins :)
